From great reads and streaming entertainment to creative classes, research tools, and unexpected things to borrow, your library card opens a full lineup of possibilities—all free with your library card.
Whether you’re getting your first card or rediscovering everything your current card can do, September is the perfect time to explore what comes next.
Library cards are free for Colorado residents. Photo identification and proof of current address are required. A parent or guardian must sign for children younger than 14.
Laufey Takes Center Stage as 2026 Honorary Chair
Icelandic-Chinese composer, singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Laufey is the 2026 honorary chair of Library Card Sign-up Month. A lifelong reader and founder of the Laufey Book Club, she is joining the American Library Association and libraries nationwide to celebrate how library cards connect people with stories, creativity, and new possibilities.

- Kanopy: Stream more than 30,000 titles, including classics, award-winning films, documentaries, kids’ shows, and world cinema. You can also explore instructional classes in the Skillshare collection.
- Creativebug and Craftsy: Stream creative classes that make it easy to learn and create at your own pace.
- Hoopla: Borrow ebooks, audiobooks, comics, music, movies, and television programs, or use one borrow for seven days of access to an available BingePass.
