Homework & Research

Find trusted, age-appropriate resources for classroom assignments, research projects, presentations, and independent learning.

Start with librarian-selected databases that provide reliable articles, reference materials, biographies, images, videos, and primary sources. Recommended resources are organized below by grade level to help students and families find an appropriate starting point.

Elementary School — Grades K–5

Recommended resources: PebbleGo, PebbleGo Next, Explora for Elementary Schools, and Primary Search.

Build early research and literacy skills with easy-to-use articles, videos, images, dictionary content, and learning activities created for elementary students. PebbleGo is designed for students in kindergarten through second grade, while PebbleGo Next supports students in grades 3–5.

Middle School — Grades 6–8

Recommended resources: Explora for Middle Schools, Middle Search Plus, Science Reference Source, and Biography Reference Source.

Find age-appropriate articles, biographies, historical essays, primary sources, images, maps, and science information for reports, presentations, and classroom projects. Many articles include reading-level information to help students choose suitable sources.

High School — Grades 9–12

Recommended resources: Explora for High Schools, MAS Ultra School Edition, Science Reference Source, History Reference Source, Literary Reference Source, Points of View Reference Source, and Academic Search Premier.

Access reliable magazine and journal articles, primary sources, reference books, literary criticism, science and history materials, and balanced perspectives on current issues. These tools support essays, research papers, debates, presentations, and college-level coursework.

Additional Learning Resources

Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia provides background information, images, and brief biographies across a wide range of subjects.

Mango Languages helps students practice practical conversation skills through interactive lessons in a variety of languages.
