The Clearview Library District and Town of Windsor Museums are teaming up to host Moments That Made US, a special, free exhibition as part of the America 250–Colorado 150 commemoration. Beginning April 13, 2026, community members can visit four local venues, each offering a unique exhibition theme that connects local history to the broader national story.

The full exhibition showcases key moments in American history, from the colonial era to today. The four themes are drawn from the Declaration of Independence, highlighting the ideas that have guided the nation for generations and continue to influence us today.

“This exhibition offers a meaningful way to explore the history that has shaped the United States. As a public library, we are committed to bringing history to life for our community,” said Casey Lansinger-Pierce, head of public services for the Clearview Library District.

A big year for Windsor and Colorado

The timing is special. In 2026, the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Colorado marks its 150th anniversary, and the Train Depot at the Windsor History Museum marks its 50th year as a museum. During this year of significant anniversaries, the exhibition brings the community together to connect, commemorate our shared history, and reflect on moments that remind us we are all part of something bigger.

“Windsor has a lot to celebrate this year, and the exhibition is just one way that we are doing that,” said Laura Browarny, culture and engagement manager for the Town of Windsor.

About the Exhibition

Moments That Made US was created by History Colorado and is currently on view at the History Colorado Center in Denver. The local print-on-demand version allows communities like ours to share the exhibition in their own spaces while connecting local history to the broader national story.

The exhibition is free and open during each location’s regular hours, and no registration is required. It will be on display at all four community locations from April 13 through Dec. 31, 2026.
