Staff Spotlight: Diana Hyland
Each month we spotlight one of the friendly staff faces you’ll run into at the Windsor-Severance Library or on the bookmobile.
Hometown: Greeley, CO
Interests: I enjoy hiking, stand up paddle boarding, running, creating home decor from wood, sewing, reading (of course) and spending time with my family and friends.
Favorite Book: It is too hard to name "A" favorite so here are some from my top ten. Childhood favorites include The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis, Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, Miss Suzy by Miriam Young. Adult favorites include Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, Killing the Rising Sun by Bill O'Reilly. Picture book favorites (because picture books are for everyone) include This Moose Belongs to Me by Oliver Jeffers, Library Lion by Michelle Knudson and The Keeping Quilt by Patricia Polacco.
Preferred Superpower: The ability to fly....not like our friend Harry on his broom or Max with her genetically enhanced body with wings...I want to fly like Superman.
Favorite Author: Michael Crichton and CS Lewis.
Favorite Vacation Spot: Keystone CO (in the summer as I intensely despise snow), and the north shore of Kauai (anytime).
What three people (dead or alive) would you invite to a dinner party? The Russo brothers (the talented team behind the cinematic Marvel universe), Abraham Lincoln and Jesus.
Favorite Quote: "Do small things with great love." - Mother Teresa
Job at the Library: Customer Service Specialist
