What We’re Trying: Kiflings (Swedish cookie)

We were intrigued by these cookies as they both have an uncommon name and are from another culture. The recipe for these baked treats was provided by Windsor local, Carol Mimms!

  • Five ingredients - The ingredients for this recipe are likely already in your home!  Simply mix, knead, roll, and bake; then you will have delicious Swedish cookies!
  • Easy to share - These cookies take the form of small powdered balls and can be easily packaged for transport in a Tupperware container, then shared with family and friends at social gatherings.
  • Nuts - This recipe does not specify the type of chopped nuts to be used in this recipe.  We used Macadamia nuts, however cashews are often recommended while baking due to their buttery, rich flavor.
  • Meeting Spaces - The public library is a great community gathering place where everyone is welcome. Want to hold a gathering of your own? We have rooms available for you to host book clubs, meetings, recipe exchanges, or other social gatherings for free!  Visit our website for more information.

Swedish Cookies on a plateMeet the Author

“The Windsor-Severance Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded in the 1970s after local community members organized to save the historic depot building from being torn down. Many locals such as Suzanne Rosener and Bob Hogan worked with the Town and railroad to move the depot building to its current location at Boardwalk Park and use the depot as a museum. The depot museum opened during Colorado’s Bicentennial year, inspiring the formation of the WSHS to preserve the buildings and heritage of Windsor and Severance.“ - https://www.thewshs.org/about/
