2020 Tax Preparation

Need help preparing your 2020 tax return? Volunteers from VITA Tax will be on hand to help you with your taxes each Monday, starting in February and lasting through April.

VITA Tax will provide free tax preparation service at the Windsor-Severance Library. This service is available to those with a total income of $57,000 or under, or those more than 60 years of age only.

Registration is required; drop-ins will not be allowed. Please do not register for multiple appointments. A second appointment will be scheduled by the VITA Tax preparer to receive your completed tax return.

Prior to your scheduled appointment, please fill out an intake form package, which can be downloaded here or picked up at the Windsor-Severance Library. Your intake forms must be completed before you arrive at your appointment and all necessary income and ID documentation brought or you will be rescheduled.

During your intake appointment, an interview will be conducted to review your tax documents. An outtake appointment will then be scheduled for the following week to pick up your completed return, which will be prepared during the week.

COVID-19 Safety Procedures & Precautions

• Masks must be worn at all times in the library during your appointment.
• Only the taxpayer and spouse, if filing jointly, are allowed at the appointment.
• Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be available for use.
