At this special Story Hour, guests and Drag (DRessing as Another Gender) Queens will read and make crafts with children ages 2-8 and their parents/caregivers. The event is geared toward promoting inclusivity and diversity by allowing children to engage with individuals who dress or may express themselves outside expected gender norms in a safe space. While “Drag Queen Story Hour” may have a provocative name, it is an important resource to many members of our community, including those who identify as LBGTQ and those who seek to eliminate bullying against those who identify in this manner. Suicide is the leading cause of death in Colorado for kids ages 10-14, and bullying has been identified as a significant catalyst in many of them. Our programming seeks to create understanding that can encourage self-acceptance and reduce bullying.
Thank you for your interest in the event. Due to the large amount of expressed interest, registration is required to attend the event, similar to our regular weekly storytimes.
At this time, the event is at capacity. We encourage you to add your name to the waitlist in case additional tickets become available.
