Weird-Science-2_heather07222016Join us to see cool science in action! Children and tweens in K-8th grade are invited to become a scientist and participate in a variety of fun science experiments at this weekly afternoon drop-in event held on Mondays from 3:00-4:30pm. As participation is on a drop-in basis, please note that experiments will last for approximately 10-30 minutes. No registration is required.

Monday, April 3rd – Magnetic Slime:  Get weird with us! We’ve made slime before, so let’s make magnetic slime this week! There’s just something awesome about watching a liquid move without touching it…join us for this fascinating experiment!

Monday, April 10th – Bicycle-Wheel Gyro:  Get weird with us! Take yourself for a spin this week when you learn how a bicycle wheel acts like a huge gyroscope!

Monday, April 17th – Magnetic Fruit and Seed Jars:  Get weird with us! When we think about objects that respond to magnets, fruit usually doesn’t come to mind, but this week we’ll discover different kinds of magnetism when we see a rare-earth magnet repel a grape! Additionally, everyone will get to take home a seed jar and watch the different stages of a seed becoming a plant!

Monday, April 24th – Electrical Fleas:  Get weird with us! Ladies and gentlemen, step right up! This week we’ll learn about static electricity and start our own electric flea circus!
