A New Year, A New Deal!

Starting Sunday, Dec. 30th, 2012, you will be able to check out a total of 50 items from the Library’s collection. You will also be able to keep books, cds, audiobooks, kits and Playaways for 3 weeks and renew them twice, as long as no one has placed a hold on the title. Here’s the scoop on other library materials.

New books, cds, audiobooks, kits and Playaways can be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed twice, as long as no one has placed a hold on the title.

Lucky Day books have a limit of 2 and can be checked out for 2 weeks. They are not renewable and you cannot place a hold on them. If you find one on the shelf, it is your “Lucky Day”!

Magazines can be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed twice. Sorry, holds are not allowed on magazines.

Movies in all formats, dvd, blu-ray and vhs can be checked out for 1 week and renewed twice. New movies are limited to 2 per library card.

Video Games can be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed twice. You can check out 5 older titles and 2 new titles per library card.

Playaway Views have a limit of 2 and can be checked out for 2 weeks with 2 renewals.

Book Club Kits and Workout Kits have a limit of 1 and can be checked out for 30 days with 1 renewal.

Story Time Bags are limited to one per library card and can be checked out for 30 days. They cannot be renewed.

The new limits and loan periods will only take effect when you check out items on or after Sunday, Dec. 30th. Items that are currently checked out still have the old rules in place.

What about the grace period? There will no longer be a grace period. If an item is not returned or renewed by the due date, fines will be assessed for every day the item is due. Remember, you can renew your items online with your library card number and PIN. Just click the My Account button on the right hand side of the page to login.
